My New Look!

Ok, today’s post was supposed to be about our debt repayment plan for 2012. That post will come tomorrow. Instead, I want to brag a little – my little blog grew up! I’ve been working with Andrea (from So Over Debt and Nuts and Bolts Media) – OK, she’s been working, and I’ve been going “Oooo I love it!”. And over the course of not quite a week, she has taken my site from an ugly, clunky WordPress blog and made it beautiful.

I can’t thank her enough, and she was so easy to work with. I take no credit – I gave her a couple of colour ideas (I like blues and purples – literally, that’s what I said), and I was leaning towards a “zen” look. I make no bones about the fact that I’m not artistic, not good at all with technology, and have next to no patience for the whole thing – outsourcing was going to be the only way to go for me. The decision to work with Andrea was one of the best ones I could have made.

Sometimes, you have to recognize your own limitations, and make a decision to pay someone else to provide a service. I hire a housekeeper to clean my house, because even though I can do it, I don’t want to. I hired Andrea to do my design work because by the time I taught myself to do these things, I’d have spent more money than I paid her… and I’d have quit blogging in sheer frustration. I blog because I like to write, not because I like the technical aspects. (Yes, I’d be perfectly happy just using Word and having a technical elf take care of posting for me). For me, this was a smart investment.

So today, I’m celebrating – tomorrow I’ll go back to talking about money. :)

    • Andrea was awesome, and I have zero talent in that area – going with her was the smartest thing I could have done!
