Today is Friday the 13th, and we’re in our car driving to Racine, WI. Fingers crossed that everything goes as planned!
Is Today’s Divorce Rate Caused by More Women in the Workplace? A controversial title if I ever read one! Thos post showed up at Boomer & Echo this week, and I’ll admit, the title got my back up, but once I read the article, I thought some of the points were interesting. I don’t think gender necessarily has anything to do with it; I know our household ran a little smoother when my husband stayed at home for a few years when our youngest son was born. Now, we both juggle to ensure everything gets done, and I don’t think either of us feels the division of labour is unfair, but it is definitely a lot of work with both of us working full time.
Cait at Blonde on a Budget has mapped out a plan to be debt free by the time she is 28 (next year). She’s suffering from debt fatigue, and just wants it to be over, already! I know how she feels, except when I start to feel debt fatigue, we often wind up spending, and wiping out all our progress. Cait’s plan seems much more solid.
At DINKS Finance, Kristina looks at whether your work is making you fat. Honestly? Some companies need to practice what they preach. My own workplace promotes health & wellness… then provides awful high fat/high calorie food at ridiculously low prices in the cafeteria, or an in house McDonald’s resturant, with a discount to boot! We’re not walking the talk….
J$ at Budgets are Sexy is off enjoying his new baby, so a guest poster wrote this article about Debt Payment ROI, and doing what makes YOU feel secure. I think Bruce is much more comfortable with debt than I am, but at least right now, he’s ready to knock off our two ugliest (and smallest) debts. Once those are gone, we’ll figure out what happens next.
I see far too much of myself in Cordelia over at Cordelia Calls It Quits. This summer, she’s determined to have a Summer of Anne (read the post, it will make sense), and this past weekend she had her first experience with the resolution… and actually liked it.
Good for you, and I’m hoping some of your zen rubs off on me!
This week, Jana at Daily Money Shot Did Something Big… she quit her job. It wasn’t good for her, and she’s now off to try to pursue her dreams… I wish her well.
Short list this week only because I’m out of time. Have a great weekend!
