Hello to any new visitors from Budgeting in the Fun Stuff! Thanks for dropping by.
It’s been a crazy week, recovering from our Half Ironman race, doing a job shadow, and this morning, my son gets his wisdom teeth removed. Hope that goes smoothly for him! I’m so behind on my reading, I’m sure I’ll miss lots of great reads, but here’s what I’ve been reading, and writing too.
Over on my fitness blog, I wrote a full recap of our Half Iron race. It was hot, hard, and one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done. I can’t wait to do another one!
As well, I’m being featured today over at Budgeting in the Fun Stuff as one of Crystal’s reader profiles. Thanks to Crystal for the opportunity!
I know I share stuff from Jana at Daily Money Shot often, but that’s because she’s awesome.
And she didn’t even pay me to say that. She posted this last week, but it’s too important not to mention here: Be Brave. Do that which scares you the most. Just do what’s right for YOU. Very cool message.
I loved this post from Budget & the Beach about Blazing Your Own Trail. We are all at different places in our lives and financial journeys. That’s part of what I love about the PF blog community. Am I over 40? Yes. Do I have kids and a mortgage? Yes. But I also have pink hair and tattoos. So maybe I’m not a typical soccer mom either.
I really, really want to post a link to Andrea’s blog post about the things PF bloggers don’t talk about for fear of being judged, I hope it works when you click it! I love Andrea’s openness and honesty, and hope she never changes.
I’m sorry, I’m not sorry. I’m not perfect, I still make bad decisions, and I definitely make decisions other people don’t agree with. And that’s OK.
Over at Canadian Finance Blog, this post about Canadian Employment Insurance reform was interesting – I’ve been out of the loop for a bit, and hadn’t heard about the proposed reforms. I’m in support of them. Now if only they’d look seriously at some of our retirement programs…
I missed so many, but I have to get my son to his dental surgery, so I’m off. Have a great weekend, and happy reading!
Thanks for the link love! Pink hair is awesome! I’ll bet you’re the coolest mom ever!
I have my moments. Funny thing is? My oldest son is ultra conservative in his looks – short hair cut, simple clothes. It’s like he’s rebelling.
It’s been awhile since I’ve had time to properly comment, but thanks for sharing these posts! I loved a lot of them and now I’m off to read Jana’s. I remember getting my wisdom teeth taken out…as long as your son gets vicodin, he should be fine
Yeah, unfortunately no vicodin, just Tylenol 3. He’s hurting a little, but we’re sitting on the couch watching Firefly on Netflix (which he’s been bugging me to do for months) so he’s happy.
When I got my wisdom teeth taken out, my friends brought me ice cream. It’s still one of my happiest high school memories.
Yep, ice cream, yogurt, milk – he’s not allowed anything else today. He’s a little grumpy, but he’s doing OK.
Thanks so much for the shout out! My blog was broken for a little while last night but Hostgator fixed it for me.
